Peter Speaks Out

As was stated previously, we return to Peter, on whom our eyes are fixed. We are using him as our representative disciple, showing us what is happening to all of the other disciples. We note with deep interest, how he has received the First of the Firstfruits of Father God, in this time of the Feast of Harvest.
Of a truth, God has given His people New Wine, the New Wine of the Holy Spirit, who has Peter do, what neither he, nor the other disciples, has never done before. He is speaking about the wonders of God to foreigners, in their own foreign languages, foreign to Peter. These are foreign to this disciple of Jesus, for as a Galilean, and a fisherman at that, he was totally ignorant of how to fluently speak those languages. He is manifesting the evidence of New Wine in him – the outpoured and ever-filling Holy Spirit.
We too are given even greater understanding and proof of the power of the Holy Spirit, of whom Jesus spoke. Let’s follow closely here. Only a few minutes ago, Peter was speaking in other tongues, as the Spirit gave him utterance. These tongues were all new to him. He had never learnt them, studied them or even tried to speak them, prior to Pentecost. Here he is now, fluently speaking in other tongues and he does it so efficiently, so accurately and so comfortably, speakers of the language, people of those parts, who were present for the Feast of Harvest, heard what was coming out of Peter’s mouth and understood, every word he spoke. Not only that, but every single one of them is totally confounded and awed.
As Peter stands up with the eleven and lifts his voice, what do we really see? In a split second, he is not speaking with other tongues, anymore, but with his own mother tongue, his known language. Get this understanding of the power of the Holy Spirit, settled in your mind and sealed in your heart.
The Holy Spirit, in miraculous power, enables Peter to speak with other tongues, so that other people are able to hear of the wonders of God, in his or her own native tongue. In other words, Peter, under the full influence of the Holy Ghost, speaks to people in their own language, as never before done.
The Holy Spirit, in miraculous power, also enables Peter to speak in his own tongue, so that other people are able to hear of the wonders of God, in Peter’s own native tongue. In other words, Peter, under the full influence of the Holy Ghost, speaks to people in his own language, as never before done.
Filled with The New Wine of the Holy Spirit, Peter speaks out so powerfully, and convincingly, even mockers are brought to the Saving Grace of Jesus. The evidence of the fulfillment of God’s promise of the Holy Spirit, the New Wine, in Peter, is also made clear in Peter’s speaking, in his own native dialect.
All I know is that the evidence of the outpoured Holy Spirit in this prepared and ready disciple, is not in the least bit limited. Just as the wind blows where it wills and will not be harnessed by any human powers, so too with the Spirit. He will not be boxed in, harnessed, or limited in any way; neither by human understanding, beliefs or interpretation of laws. The Pentecostal Spirit, I call Him, enabled a disciple of Jesus to speak publicly to individuals in a crowd of different speaking people, by making him speak a different tongue. He is so effective in his speaking that people hear their own language and respond.
Likewise, the same Holy, Pentecostal Spirit, has enabled that very disciple of Jesus to speak publicly to the entire multilingual crowd gathered, of different speaking people, by making him speak in his own known tongue. Peter is so effective in his speaking that people hear and respond, to the honour and glory of God.
May God help us never to speak about the work of the Holy Spirit, according to human measures.
May God the Father, grant us the humility, wisdom and pure honesty to realize, accept and acknowledge that the works of the Holy Spirit are not subject to human intelligence, physical strength or any kind of advanced scholarship. Whether our lives are ordinary and simple, or extraordinary and scholarly, let us consecrate them all to Almighty God.
May we all, who are like Mary, give up our unworthiness and simplicity to Sovereign Almighty God, in deep and grateful submission. May we speak as she spoke, in deep, uncompromising commitment, as we too say this. Behold, the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word. Luke 1: 38b.
May we all, who are like Paul, give up our worthiness and scholarship to Sovereign Almighty God, in deep and heartfelt surrender. May we speak as he spoke, in deep, uncompromising commitment, as we too say this. But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. Yea doubtless, and I count all things, but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ. Philippians 3: 7 – 8a.
Oh! May we totally be made new vessels, changed servants, risen bodies, that each of us will be perfectly placed, losing all self-piety and self-righteousness; all self-abasing and self-lifting; all self-humbling and self-aggrandizing; counting everything but rubbish, to be witnesses of the Risen Lord.
Only in this totally surrendered mind and heart, will we be able to be used by the Holy Spirit, however He wills.
