Our Gleaning

I know that many of you have spent time pondering and gleaning. I’m quite sure also that you have been taken through some spiritually arresting sights, which have made you look at your present condition.
You were like that prodigal son, who was given vivid sight of his father’s love for him and all that was his as his father’s child. He saw truth in himself and became compelled to no longer live bereft of his father’s lavish provisions. He could no longer stomach strangers and servants of his father’s, living, receiving and showing the beauty and truth of his father's generosity, while he, a child of the father, is living and showing the truth of the child of one who is ugliness and lies.
In whichever way, may the Holy Spirit grant us the eyes of wisdom to see and return.
Seeing and Returning
When I see how the bowels of Father God’s compassion have been opened up to us in and through His Son, our Lord and Saviour, Jesus, all I know is that I want to love You Lord, yet, what can I do to love You and praise You? When I am shown and told again, through the ever present Spirit, of Your mercies so divinely free, for every single sinner and me also, I am made hungry with longing. I cannot continue my present life of self-seeking, self-managing and self-upholding. I confess that many who do not have the promises which I have in Christ Jesus, are receiving blessings and graces which have been promised to me, but I have forfeited. I think of one this minute and it is the sin of anxiety. Yes, to live with anxiety controlling my life is to live as that prodigal, away from home. I can hear many of us, Christians, saying that we have anxiety, but not to the extent of controlling our lives. Do drunkards admit to being alcoholics, even when things around them, including their health, are falling apart?
Only when I come to my senses through God the Holy Spirit, will I long to make my Saviour mine. He is God the Son, who took my every sin as His, counting the costliness of doing this, yet resolutely doing it completely and triumphantly. In ready, repentant heart, mind, soul and strength, I long for my love and life, my words and works, my giving and receiving, to give to all I meet, the height and depth of Your Divine Love, Father. The inexpressible kindness which You have shown and continue to shower upon me, I want to show and shower upon others.
Signing and Resourcefulness
My mind goes to material, for example, which you have bought and paid for in full, at the hardware store. However, when the delivery is made, regardless of how much sooner or later the material arrives, you are given a paper to sign. Your required signature is for one reason and one reason only. You sign, agreeing, saying, showing, telling and proving that indeed you have received the goods. In this wise, the understanding is the same, for we believe by faith that the Indwelling Holy Spirit, not He who comes on us for special purposes, but He who dwells within us, is our Signature, telling the entire world that we have received the Son’s Victorious Works on the Cross and God’s Glorious Grace of Salvation to us. The glorious hope is that once received, as the material or lumber has already been signed for, we now put it into use. We have the power and the resources to prophesy, as in the Spirit, our every breath will be praise and our hearts will be filled with God, overflowing with His Love, so that all our lives will publish and show God’s Glory.
