Lie Or Truth

We continue, with vigour and ardency to pursue this matter of Resurrection deception as we wait solely on our Guide and Counsellor. This topic will be a total joke for some, most uninteresting for others and still, for a few it will be just something to skim through with no relevance for us, in any way. However, there are those who, like me, want to receive all that we are afforded. We lose all, to receive all, for we have learnt and are learning that the deceiver is not just clever, but he has keen eyes and will spot in us, what we aren’t even aware of, about ourselves.
Holy Spirit, make me relevant please; relevant to You in my thinking, speaking and hearing. Keep me ever aware of my shortcomings. Remind me that I am not able to stand on my own, for I am incapable of overcoming any deceiver or deceit, depending on anything belonging to me. Show me, Lord, even in this Resurrection discussion, how very pertinent it is to me. Save me from living a lie and daily publicizing in my hearing, speaking, and living, that Your resurrection is nothing but fallacy and fancy. Amen!
We can speak and pray thus wise, for the infallible Scriptures have provided us with truth, which by faith we must receive. Here is Scripture which is so easy to brush aside in the limelight of our joyful, resurrection celebrations. Here is a serious and most scary matter which is among us, but we do not pay attention to it as we ought to. Here is fact about the living proofs concerning the fallacy of Jesus’ Resurrection. We listen with chilling breath and touched hearts as Matthew unfolds these realities to us.
While the women were on their way, some of the guards went into the city and reported to the chief priests everything that had happened. When the chief priests had met with the elders and devised a plan, they gave the soldiers a large sum of money, telling them, You are to say, His disciples came during the night and stole him away while we were asleep. If this report gets to the governor, we will satisfy him and keep you out of trouble. So the soldiers took the money and did as they were instructed. And the story has been widely circulated among the Jews to this very day. Matthew 28: 11 – 15
Here is the Resurrection Miracle, which had taken place, bringing massive fear to all who were present at the time. Remember, it’s the third day, Resurrection Day, and God, who always keeps His Word, has come to earth in a violent earthquake, as His angel comes down from heaven, goes to Jesus' tomb, rolls back the stone and sits on it. Check this image, this picture! God’s angel is sitting on the rolled away stone, which had been securely sealed by the unbelieving people of God - teachers, preachers, leaders, and elders – Priests and Pharisees of the Law of God, to ensure and secure the safety of the tomb where Jesus’ Body was buried. So they went and made the tomb secure by putting a seal on the stone and posting the guard. Matthew 27: 66.
The angel, sitting on that very stone, was a sight too bright for human eyes to behold. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. Matthew 28: 3. Does this image not remind you of Jesus at His Transfiguration? As he was praying, the appearance of his face changed, and his clothes became as bright as a flash of lightning. Luke 9: 29.
The sight of God’s angel, sitting in heavenly apparel, on the earthly stone, which he has miraculously rolled away, leaving the way to the tomb of Jesus gaping wide, brings great fear to all who saw him. We are told that, the guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men. Matthew 28: 4. We have also been told that Mary Magdalene and another Mary, two women disciples of Jesus, were present, as they had come to look at the tomb of their beloved Lord. They were also terrified, at the sight of the angel, but he spoke to them and told them not to be afraid of him. He told them just where they would find the Living Jesus. As the women hurried away, the guards also hurried away to tell all that they had witnessed of the Miracle of Jesus’ Resurrection. While the women were on their way, some of the guards went into the city and reported to the chief priests everything that had happened. Matthew 28: 11
Think about it! Two sets of witnesses to the Resurrection Miracle, who saw God, in His angel, are afraid and leave in fear to tell what they have just witnessed. One group, the women, hurried away from the open tomb, afraid, yet filled with joy, and ran off to tell his disciples. On the other hand, the soldiers, still terrified, hurry off to Jerusalem’s city and reported to the chief priests everything that had happened. Matthew 28: 11b
Have you ever pondered this with awe and wonder? Guards, people whose job it was to safeguard the sealed stone at the entrance of Jesus’ tomb, are speaking Resurrection Talk because they have been made witnesses to Resurrection Miracle.
O yes, we must explore this with every ounce of Spiritual energy and drive afforded to us.
