In Your Name - Continued

I begin by reasoning with you. Everything we have read so far about the Name of Jesus, is Good News, don’t you agree? Since it is surely Good News, how can we ponder, present, procure, publish and praise the Name of our Lord, Master, Saviour and Indwelling Companion, if His Name is not doing in us, what it claims?

We continue to examine our own lives, not the life of another believer, as we desire all, not some, but every single work achieved by and in the Name of Jesus.

Lord, Spirit Divine, please search my heart, my mind, my will, and my ways and save me from all self-arrogance, pride and folly. Amen! 

With listening ears and receptive minds we continue receiving and looking at the Supremacy and Omnipotence of the Name of Jesus, as recorded in the NKJV. 

There is Cleansing in the Name of Jesus.

And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God. 1 Corinthians 6: 11

And now why are you waiting? Arise and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord. Acts 22: 16

There is Healing in the Name of Jesus

Let it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by Him this man stands here before you whole. Acts 4: 10

And this she did for many days. But Paul, greatly annoyed, turned to the spirit, and said I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out that very hour. Acts 16: 18

There are Signs and Wonders in the Name of Jesus.

Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word, by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus. Acts 4: 29 – 30

Now when He was in Jerusalem at the Passover, during the feast, many believed in His name when they saw the signs which He did. John 2: 23

There is Community in the Name of Jesus

Whoever receives this child in My name receives Me, and whoever receives Me receives Him who sent Me; for the one who is least among all of you, this is the one who is great. Luke 9: 48

For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst. Matthew 18: 20

There is Forgiveness in the Name of Jesus.

Then Peter said to them, ‘Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.' Acts 2: 38

To Him all the prophets witness that, through His name, whoever believes in Him will receive remission of sins. Acts 10: 43

There is Glorification in the Name of Jesus.

If you send them forward on their journey in a manner worthy of God, you will do well, because they went forth for His name’s sake, taking nothing from the Gentiles. 3 John 6b – 7

Therefore we also pray always for you that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of His goodness and the work of faith with power, that the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Thessalonians 1: 11 - 12

We have been made aware of more living, active truths about the Name of Jesus. These are not for some and not for others. If we believe and take Jesus at His Word, all these can be evidenced in our lives, right here, in human flesh.

Holy Jesus, we believe that in Your Name we can know Cleansing, Healing, Signs and Wonders, Community, Forgiveness and Glorification. We admit that this is not so in many of our lives and Jesus, in Your Living and Active Name, we seek and ask for all that You have come to be to us and for us. Holy Spirit, thank You for being here for us, to make it all possible. Amen!
