In Your Name

As promised, today has been specifically dedicated to some facts about the Name of Jesus. I know that it stated that this was especially included for those who might not know them, but this will undoubtedly prove invaluable for those who already know them.

I must confess, with deep gratitude and honest thankfulness to our Holy Spirit, for leading me in this. Just reading them, and having them hit me directly in my spiritual eyes, have brought me before our Precious Lord, in surrendered heart, soul, mind and strength. Just receiving them all again, though this list does not in any way cover it all, I have been vigorously refreshed and reenergized with resolute persistence in prayer to seek all that has been offered us, in the Wonderful Name of Jesus. My faith allows me to believe the same for you, as we all know such heart-surrendering, and soul-refreshing responses, made true and real, through the Holy Spirit and Him only.

Holy Father in Heaven, thank You for Jesus and His Supreme, Majestic, Exalted and Unsurpassed Name. Amen!  

In what way is Jesus’ Name above all other names?

God made that Name so great and wonderful, these are but a few of what the Bible records for us as taken from the NKJV.

There is Majesty in the Name of Jesus.

For to us a child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be on His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9: 6

And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. Revelation 19: 16

There is Authority in the Name of Jesus.

And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.  Mark 16: 17

Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name. Luke 10: 17

There is Power in the Name of Jesus.

And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. Colossians 3: 17

Now John answered Him, saying, ‘Teacher, we saw someone who does not follow us casting out demons in Your name, and we forbade him because he does not follow us. But Jesus said, ‘Do not forbid him, for no one who works a miracle in My name can soon afterward speak evil of Me.' Mark 9: 38 – 39

There is Guarantee in the Name of Jesus.

And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. John 14: 13

And in that day you will ask me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you. Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full. John 16: 23 – 24

There is Salvation in the Name of Jesus.

Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved. Acts 4: 12 

For whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. Roman 10: 13

We stop here for two reasons. One is that it’s all well and good to read and remember, or read and feel good and proud about our Jesus, whose Name is so mighty and powerful. However, we stop, to give us an opportunity to ponder each of these facts and truths as evidenced in each of our lives. Additionally, we pause so that we have opportunity and time to look at our lacking lives, seek repentance and ask our Lord for His Name to be glorified in us, His followers and disciples, that we may be pleasing witnesses to Him in all areas.

Holy Jesus, may Your Majesty, Authority, Power, Guarantee and Salvation be most vividly evident in my life that I may know You in humanly unfathomable ways. Thank You Father, for giving Your Son and our Redeemer, such a Name above all names. Amen!
