This Lord’s Day Sunday marks the final week before many of us, Christians, begin celebrating Advent. I felt a little pang, like, a touch of nervous anxiety and anticipation as it were, when it suddenly dawned upon me that Advent is upon us.

I know that we never know what tomorrow will bring, but I thank our Lord for this grace, ability and opportunity to remember. It is a marvellous blessing when we can remember our Lord’s first Advent, Love come down to us in flesh, that we may know salvation, in Spirit and in Truth.

Will you not join me in giving deep, heartfelt and ever grateful thanks to our Heavenly Father, for granting us the capacity of remembering? Will you come before our ever present Father with hearts all welling up with honour and praise to Him, for His faithfulness to us, in spite of the fact that we have been so very unfaithful to Him?

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your Name. Your Name is power and might. Your Name is supreme, above all other gods. Your Name is precious, beyond all human expectation and anticipation. Your Name encompasses all that is good, all that is right, all that is just and all that is honourable. Your Name is Holy. Holy! Holy! Holy! Is our God. Amen!
O Lord God, we lift Your Name high, for You alone are worthy. Thank You for Your Son, our Saviour. Thank You for sending Your Holy Spirit that we can receive daily enlightenment and grow more and more like You, through Him. We praise Your Name! We glorify Your Name. Amen!

As we begin this week, mindful of the coming Christmas, or Advent Season, will you share this time with me, fully committed to receiving as we are given?

Would you believe that over a decade ago, I was in this same position as I am now, where I was made aware of an approaching Advent Season and was wild with anticipation as to what our Lord was going to teach me and lead me through.

Now, as then, I am made to ponder the Name of Jesus.

Now, as then, I am brought to present the Name of Jesus.

Now, as then, I am made to procure the Name of Jesus.

Now, as then, I am made to publish the Name of Jesus.

Now, as then, I am constrained to praise the Name of Jesus.

Together, enabled, empowered and made ready by God the Holy Spirit, we shall be taken through this week, in the Name of Jesus. With all of our hearts and minds fully focused on the Name of Jesus, we will boldly and confidently enter the Advent Season.

Thanks Be To God!
