Hell Residents Are REAL

Our text comes from a verse of the parable which Jesus told about a rich man and a beggar called Lazarus.

And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. Luke 16: 23 KJV

Hell Residence - And in hell

Hell dwellers are real, because hell is real. People are presently living in hell. How do I know Father, whether or not I am living in hell? Answer these natural, normal questions.

Question - Where are you living now? Yes it seems foolish but you need to answer.

Answer - I am presently residing in the Caribbean island of Barbados.

Question - How do you know that you are living in the island of Barbados? Another obvious and almost silly question.

Answer - I know that I am presently living in Barbados; not because of its small size, there are other small islands nearby; not because of its sea and sand, other islands boast of the same; not because its people are friendly, other islands claim the same. I know that I am living in the island of Barbados, because of its rule or governance.

As sure as there are hell residents, there are heaven residents. Are you a resident of hell or are you a resident of heaven? Where do you presently reside? How do you know that you are living there? The same responses hold for the heavenly home or the hell place. You and I know that we are presently living in the Kingdom of Heaven, or the kingdom of deceit and lies, by the rule of governance of that place. Here is a simple but striking example of where I truly reside.

I am a Trinidadian by birth and had all my early schooling, teaching, examples and rules from that country. I draw your attention to my driving on the streets of my country. I know that when we come to a junction, we slow down and proceed with due caution. We tend to only stop, if another vehicle is approaching. That was the unwritten and accepted law. However, when I came to reside in the country in which I now live, I was physically in another place yes, but mentally and by means of habit, I drove as I was used to in my country. I came here with the rules of a past place and tried to apply such rules in my new place. I was quickly put right by the enforcers of the law, to say the least.

Too many of us, because of a few physical changes and adjustments we have made in our physical lives, such as giving up certain activities, reading our Bibles more and going to church more regularly, think that we are spiritually changed and charged. For example, we want to live in the Kingdom of Father God with the same spirit of fear and doubt as we once lived. For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1: 7 NKJV. We can safely conclude that it is impossible for anyone to be in hell and still claim heavenly living. The counter is just as true. It is impossible for anyone to be in heaven and still give perfect testimony to what is of the evil one. The spirit of fear is of the devil’s kingdom.
