God's Love

On this fourth and final Lord’s Day in the first month of a New Year, we are, of all people most blessed and loved. On this day, we have the privilege and opportunity to look back on the past twenty-seven days which we have lived, in this first month of thirty-one days.

We look back and cannot but bow in deep reverence, awe, respect and honour, before our Heavenly Father. He is LOVE.

We worship and adore Him as the One Omnipotent, the One Omniscient, and the One Omnipresent God, whose ways and wisdom are far beyond finding out.  We acknowledge Him, the Supreme Ruler and Owner. He is LORD.

We glorify and respect Him as our all in all, our only way, our one hope and our undivided truth for living.  He is LIFE.

God, our Heavenly Father, has been good to us despite all the calamities, misfortunes, evils, darkness and fears which have beset us all. Many of us have had this New Year begin really rough, stormy and totally unprepared for some huge life-changing calamities. I know that some of you have had greater and more severe challenges than others. I know that many of you have been pushed to the brink of despair, being tempted to speak of God as not caring, because of what has happened to you. I also know that a few of you are, in this very moment, questioning yourself as to the purpose for continuing to believe that God is with you, when you see the clearly distinct and real hand of evil and misfortune, with you.

On this final Lord’s Day, before another month rolls in, let me assure you, whoever you are, and in whatever state you may be, that God is still your Heavenly Father, whose Love for you is unbroken. His ways and wisdom can never be understood by you. Think about it!

Yes, you are looking at it, after the fact, but nonetheless, you are looking at it and seeing how Father God has never been absent, nor absent-minded in some of the most severely trying times in the lives of His believers. I mean people, whose lives have been solely dedicated to the Lord.

When Daniel had to face the viciously, ferocious lion’s den, God did not shield him from any of the trauma that went before. Daniel had to hear the hard, harsh, chilling words of the issued, unchangeable decree of the human power, stating, he must be cast into the lion’s den. Was not God with Daniel throughout, not just at the end, when He saved him from the lions?

What about Hagar, a servant in the house of Abraham? She’s a foreigner, a slave, who has borne a son for Abraham. She and her young son have been banished from Abraham’s household and not knowing where to go or whom to turn to, she finds herself in a desert, where there is no water. She cannot bear to see her young son die of starvation and thirst, so she goes in a corner and sobs her heart out. She is not praying or begging God to save her and her son. All that is being heard is sobbing from her and her son. But God is our Father in heaven who never forsakes a dying soul. When Hagar had to face the merciless, demanding desert, God did not shield her from any of the awful trauma that went before her and her son. Hagar had to feel the hard, harsh, chilling truth, of death in a forsaken place. Was not God with Hagar and her son throughout, not just at the end, when He provided refreshing, filling water for them both?

On this last Lord’s Day Sunday, of the first month of this New Year, accept it or reject it, God is with you. If He is with you, His Unbroken, Unfailing, Undeniable Light is with you.

Only with Jesus, even in the midst of darkness and cloudiness, there's Sunshine!

Only with Jesus, even in the company of sourness and bitterness, there's Sweetness!

Led and guided by the Holy Ghost, we look forward to this mixed week, with simple love. As God wills, we look forward to more and more sunshine and sweetness in Jesus and with Jesus.
