What a privilege it is for us to be given the opportunity of seeing another Lord’s Day Sunday. What a joy to be able to come to this day in hope that our Heavenly Father who, as God is not just Father, but He is Son and Holy Ghost also. We come with hearts and minds looking to our One, Triune God, whose ways far exceed any ways there are.
We come on this first Lord’s Day Sunday in an already on the way new month, refreshed, invigorated, thankful and full of hope in our God who hears and answers prayers. Let’s give unlimited and most generous praise and thanks for a Heavenly Father whose love for us is open, generous and unchained. Thanks be to You O God.
Today, we think of many, who are unable to give praise and thanks to God. For whatever reasons, many people, some whom we know and dearly love are plagued by illnesses, diseases, sorrows, fears and sheer depression of spirits, which have left them feeling very far from Father God and His grace and mercy. Let us pray and keep holding them close to God for He cares.
We remember those who have turned their backs on Jesus; those who want nothing to do with Church, or what Church represents; those who have backslidden to some very far places and those who live in total denial of the truth of the Son of God. Let us pray and keep seeking our Lord’s saving grace, to snatch them from such damning paths, for our Lord does not delight in seeing us perish.
We think of the Church, you, me and all who answer to the name of Christian and how so many of us live far below what Jesus, the Head of the Church, expects of His believers and servants. We pray that all of us who have become, cold, lukewarm, complacent and ever lackadaisical in service, will be quickened by God the Holy Spirit. We ask that she - Your Church - may be bold in trust and brave in faith to be Your pleasing and perfect witness. The Lord does care about our service to Him.
We pray for the lambs of our Heavenly Father’s fold, that they may be daily nurtured and fed in the love, honour and respect that is due to God. May they be given good examples that they may see and do as is pleasing to the Lord. Jesus loves all His lambs and does not delight in any of them being undernourished, underfed, under-cared and unloved. Jesus’ heart is very tender towards the children. He cares for the lambs.
Whoever you are, and whatever your position and station at the moment, believe that the Lord cares.
Here is the Good News for you on this day, of life. With the ears, eyes, mind and heart of faith, will you hear your Father in heaven speaking this word to you?
Listen to me, O house of Jacob, all you who remain of the house of Israel, you whom I have upheld since you were conceived, and have carried since your birth. Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you. Isaiah 46: 3 – 4.
Believe and live your Good News!
For the rest of the week, we shall be receiving Good News from God. Isn’t our Father in Heaven, whose Name is hallowed, unbelievably good to us, His undeserving children?
