Glorious Saturday! Holy Saturday! However this day is called by you, one thing we all share in common, by faith, is that Jesus did die and was buried. On this seventh and final day of journeying with Jesus, for forty days and forty nights, we wait with triumphantly exciting breath, knowing that our Lord will rise again just as He said.

Matthew tells us that on the very evening when Jesus was crucified, Joseph of Arimathea went and asked Pilate for Jesus’ Body and it was released to him. When Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, and laid it in his new tomb, which he had hewn out of the rock; and he rolled a large stone against the door of the tomb, and departed. Matthew 27: 59 – 60 NKJV. Jesus is in the tomb.

Here is today’s Jesus Experience.

On the next day, which followed the Day of Preparation, the chief priests and Pharisees gathered together to Pilate, saying, Sir, we remember, while He was still alive, how that deceiver said, After three days I will rise. Therefore command that the tomb be made secure until the third day, lest His disciples come by night and steal Him away, and say to the people, He has risen from the dead. So the last deception will be worse than the first. Matthew 27: 62 – 64.NKJV

Holy Spirit, turn me around please in
every way that I knowingly and unknowingly, willingly and unwillingly and wittingly and unwittingly, seek to make and turn the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, into nothingness. Amen!

We take our final look at the text which has been with us throughout this Holy Week. Through the praise of children and infants you have established a stronghold against your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger. Psalm 8: 2. God has chosen to use the praise of children and infants, in some of the most spectacular and miraculous ways. No enemy will appreciate such for it is nothing but an insult to them, their strength, power and authority. These enemies of God cannot cope with the innocence, weakness and pure dependence of children. Yet God’s victorious and triumphant stronghold is ordained and established through children’s praise.

This reminds us of a happening during Holy Week, long ago. Jesus has made His triumphant entrance into Jerusalem. The air of celebrations is thick as people from all over are in town to celebrate the Passover. Jesus is doing mighty works among the people and the praises of Palm Sunday continue. However, we are told that the chief priests and scribes, when they saw the marvellous works Jesus was doing, were not at all pleased. But this is what really angered them. When they heard, the children crying out in the temple and saying, Hosanna to the Son of David! they were indignant and said to Him, Do you hear what these are saying?  And Jesus said to them, Yes. Have you never read.,Out of the mouth of babes and nursing children You have perfected praise? Matthew 21: 15b – 16 NKJV.

Is not God working His purposes out in the innocent, unadulterated praise of children? Remember, it is all God, as He takes what is meaningless, weak and foolishness to the self-righteous religious people and does the absolute marvellous.

The religious people have had Jesus crucified, mainly because they saw Him as the deceiver himself, a vessel of Satan. They now feel that His disciples, people they term as foolish, unlearned, ordinary and gullible will follow in His footsteps deceiving people about His Resurrection. They cannot have all His, children in the Spirit, killed and silenced, so they keep their self-righteous, controlling hands on the dead Jesus, in that tomb. Under permission of Pilate, they went and made the tomb secure, sealing the stone and setting the guard. Matthew 27: 66. They strongly believe that they can keep the Resurrection of Jesus at bay, by trying to silence the ignorant disciples of Jesus, those with the gullibility of children, believing His every Word.

As long as you and I, are as little children, our lives, branches in the True Vine, and temples of the Holy Spirit, will live praises to God. It is through our lives of praise that God has ordained a stronghold against His enemies, and ours as well, to silence every foe and avenger.

Is this not true in Resurrection Power?

Wait and Watch!
