The Grace Of Receiving

A good friend from my homeland, has come to visit and to bring me a taste of her homemade goodies. We sit and chat for a bit and then with deep sadness in her voice and hurt on her face, she tells me about their family friend. The friend, who is not quite fifty years of age, now suffers with Alzheimer’s disease. She is talking about how scary that malady is and how no one knows whom it will attack in the New Year and things to that effect. The truth is that it drove instant fear in me, as I began to think of my life and all the possibilities.

As I spent time feeding this fear, I experienced something kind of scary, yet supernatural. I was totally removed from my fear and brought to good sense, as this dawned upon me. There was I, in the company of my friend who had just brought me good news in the homemade goodies which I was so happy to receive, yet that joy was not being celebrated. Not only that, but I was really happy to know that she not only made them, but brought them to my home, yet that joy was being overshadowed by a possibility. Boy! Did I receive Blessing and Vindication! O how I knew the error of my ways! O how the Lord granted me the blessings of grace!

What is your fear today? What are your fears, as you think of this New Year? Don’t let your fears stick with you. The reality is that I do not know whether I will suffer with Alzheimer’s or whatever, but I do know that I have glad tidings from the Lord. Whatever your fear, in the New Year, don’t let it cling to you. The message of Blessing for you removes and dispels your fears. It comes in hearing words of healing which soothe, calm and cancel all cares and worries. Not only that, but these words are given to remain with you as your constant companion to be held on to, whenever fear raises its ugly face at you. The word given to what I refer to as the season of fear in the shepherds, is the same word given to you now in your season or time of fear.

Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. Luke 2: 10b KJV.  From this Grace of Blessing, will you receive what I have been given to offer you in these three hearing words of healing? Will you accept the Grace of Receiving?

The first healing word which comes in your hearing is that you are not to be afraid. Fear not. These are not just nice, but empty and weightless words. No! Look at what is taking place with the frightened shepherds. This is no imagined or unreasonable fear which they are experiencing. Your fear, as you face a new year, is not unfounded and unreasonable either. You have real concerns and doubts about many things and these make you afraid. But the healing word to them is a word of power, authority and truth, for this word is given by God Himself to His messenger, to tell the fearing shepherds. Will you, by faith, receive this sent word to you in your fears? Then don’t be afraid.

The second healing word which comes in your hearing is that you are to receive Good Tidings. I bring you good tidings of great joy. The reason you need not be afraid is because I have brought you good news. Here is reality. A person can be the bearer of:-

  • healing or hurting tidings

  • heart-warming or heart-breaking information

  • joyful or sorrowful news

  • good news or bad news

I have brought you Good News of great joy. There is a Saviour for you. This is no secret, but it will never be told in you, if you refuse to believe and accept the Good Tidings being offered you today. Will you accept the Grace of Receiving?

The third healing word which comes in your hearing is that this Blessing is not just for you or a select few as it stipulates, which shall be to all people. Because the Good News is for all people, then it’s no secret, so that you have an obligation and duty to share this News with others. You are to spread the Good News to all, through your words and actions. On the other hand, if you don’t accept this Living, Healing Word from the Lord as for you, then how will you help others to know it is for them also? Will you accept the Grace of Receiving?

Let’s continue in God’s Grace tomorrow, the Fifth day of the New Year.
