Yesterday although we alluded to the fact that the fourth banner was one of Defusing, it was never really stated categorically, nor was it shown and explained in any detail. Today, this Banner Accompanying Defusing, is before us as large as life.
We had two major questions posed in yesterday’s offering, which came after a bold statement. It stated that the children of God had not just been defeated mercilessly, but their power source had been defused. We were told that it was no help to them. Then these were the questions asked.
How has this been done? This, refers to the fact that the children of God have made the effort to send men to safely bring the Ark of the LORD from the holy place in Shiloh, expressly to be with them in this battle. Their objective is not for continued defeat, but for victory over their enemy, the Philistines. They know and have had sufficient proof and evidence that the Power of Almighty God dwells in the Ark. Their God is the God of all Power and the Source of all Power. Alas, there is a defusing; there must be a defusing, for the power source is shut down on them, and is powerless to do as they desire. They have been defeated, just as it was when the power source was not physically present.
What has been done? What is the outcome of this continued defeat? The Hebrew soldiers have been beaten worse, much worse than before. Their last defeat left them depleted in that the Philistines killed four thousand of their soldiers. This time, they have killed thirty thousand Israelite soldiers.
So the Philistines fought, and the Israelites were defeated and every man fled to his tent. The slaughter was very great; Israel lost thirty thousand foot soldiers. The ark of God was captured, and Eli’s two sons, Hophni and Phinehas, died. 1 Samuel 4: 10 – 11
What an unbearably sad and sorry state for the children of God to be in. What a great and mighty taking down for any children of Sovereign, Father God. The very Presence of God, the Physical place in which He has come down to earth to live, is powerless today, to help His people.
Lord Save Us!
A Banner Accompanying Defusing has been expanded before us. What is your response? What words of wisdom, has the Holy Spirit plastered you with? Whatever they are, surely He has imparted to your heart and mind, the Almightiness of who God is. He is our God, who can show the fullness of His Power in both victory and defeat. He is a God of all times and any times. To stand under the banner of God’s Almightiness and be as foolhardy to think that He will just do as you desire Him to do, in your stubborn, filthy state, is to be totally and unadulteratedly deceived. God is Almighty and He cannot but be mighty in all His ways.
Today, the banner says: We, the children of God, are a Defused people.
