Forecast

Daily, the weather forecast is available to anyone and everyone, for regardless of where you are, it is one weather forecast for all who live in a particular city, place or location. If you live in place ‘X’ for example, there is one weather forecast, so whether you are sick or well; young or old; wealthy or poor; ruler or vagrant; freeman or prisoner, the one forecast is the same for all.

So too, regardless of who you are and in whatsoever state you are, there is a forecast for you. This forecast is not of the weather, but of God’s plan for you. We are being given this Forecast from Exodus 6: 1 – 9.

Look at the state and condition of the children of God and determine whether or not this is your present state. If it is, then this forecast is for you. If it is not, this forecast is still for you, for God’s plans are for all His children, no exception. This is the Lord’s Forecast of His Will.

As was said, we need to see that the state of God’s children is one of abject discouragement and cruel bondage. See the cruel bondage as a confinement that is evil, wicked and heartless, coming from the enemy. They are held in total confinement of body, soul, mind and spirit. The children of God presently live in daily discouragement, no hope of change, no glimmer of relief from their present slavery, their bondage in Egypt. They are living with a forecast of doom, gloom and no change. They live, and only know that they live, because they are still breathing, for they have been given a forecast of more bondage, greater pain, harder times and relentless problems.

But God has another forecast. It is the forecast of His Will and Moses has been called to receive this food, as it were, and feed it to those discouraged children, in the midst of their confinement. Let’s return for a bit to an understanding of the word forecast.

First thing about the Forecast

Think of the person who brings you or feeds you the weather forecast. The media person who brings it to you is not necessarily the one who has packaged it for you. That one is simply the announcer, not the provider. The same is true of this forecast to the children of Israel. Moses is simply the announcer, the one who gives it to the children of God. God, the, I AM, the LORD, is the Provider who gives it to Moses to tell the children of Israel. So too, this forecast is coming to you from me as the servant announcer, but God Has Given It.

Second thing about the Forecast

It is usually about what weather is to come. The very word ‘fore’ means, before it happens. For example, today may be the first day of the week, Sunday, yet you may receive the forecast for the next day, Monday and even the rest of the week. We all know this to be a fact. The Forecast of the Lord’s Will is also for what is to come today and beyond.

Third thing about the Forecast

Whether you believe or not, does not change the forecast. Whenever we visit Canada, I am always amazed at how the weather forecast tells you, snow tomorrow and for the rest of the week and though it is a sunny bright day with temperatures in the twenties (smile) by the next morning you awaken to snow and temperatures below zero. What I am saying, is that to see a sunny day and not prepare for the minus temperatures would be foolhardy. In the same way, the Lord’s Forecast for you is for today and beyond, it is your choice whether or not you prepare for it. Your acceptance is not the problem really, for the weather will come regardless. The problem lies in your preparation or lack of it.

Fourth thing about the Forecast.

The result is your doing, not the result of the forecast. For example, thunder storms are forecast and you make absolutely no preparation for this. You get caught in it and it can bring great harm, cause undue pain and suffering, loss and more. These occur simply because you refused to take the necessary precautions. The same is true of the Lord’s Forecast of Will. If you refuse to hear and prepare for His Will, it will be your doing and your will and not the Lord’s Will for you.

Here is God’s Forecast of His Will. He begins by saying: -

I will bring you out from under the yoke of your slave owners.

I will free you from being slaves to them.

I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with mighty acts of judgment.

I will take you as My own people.

I will be your God.

I will make you to know Me as the Lord Your God, who brought you out from under your yoke.

I will bring you to the place of promise, I swore with uplifted hand to give your forefathers.

I will give it to you to possess.

And the Forecast ends as it begins. We are told that because of their depression and confinement the Israelites did not listen to Moses.

Maybe you see no way out at the moment but the Lord has spoken and will you begin to make some preparation? It will come whether or not you want it, but you can prepare. One of my preparations is to focus on the Lord’s Forecast and not on the deceiver’s forecast for me. What about you? Whether easy or hard, just trust Him.

Mighty God, The Great I AM, please prepare me to readily avail myself of Your Forecast. Please let me know beyond the shadow of a doubt, through Your Holy Spirit that You reign and that Jesus the Risen Son is our Lord and Saviour. Amen!
