Yesterday’s exercise to spend a little time speaking to God and listing the ways in which He has been faithful to us, must have brought us to living realities, which would have compelled us to simply fall flat before our Lord and Father, in deep repentance.

I know that when I began to list things, when they just came rolling off my tongue, I was simply dumbfounded and stupefied. I began to feel ashamed of myself and saw how very ungrateful I have been. My mind was then removed from me to our Loving, Caring Father in Heaven and it seems as if I could just see His sad face and hurting heart, for me. I have never known or seen even a small part of how ungrateful I am and have been, where God is concerned. What about you? If you are as I, then you can join me in this prayer of honest, sincere repentance.

Faithful, Father God, You have been nothing to me but faithful. My entire life is a tale of Your faithfulness to me. Yet, Father, I live my life in such utter ingratitude. I spent more time complaining, murmuring, whining, muttering and rehearsing my misfortunes, than I spent telling others about You. I do say thanks Lord for each new day, but the thanks is one second flat and the rest of the time is all about me and the sad things that are happening to me.
Father, please forgive me, for if I were truly living in gratitude and faith, I would be living a victorious life in Jesus. Loving Father, thank You for hearing me, helping me and changing me. Amen!

Be it known, in the same way, when I did my personal itemizing, I could never even begin to get close to exhausting the list, likewise with the Israelites and God. The itemized list introduced yesterday, in no way exhausts the ways they knew God as faithful.

Listen to what is said in Deuteronomy 7: 9. Know therefore that the LORD your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commands. Faithful is God’s Name and Nature and He is only asking His children to follow His example in faithfulness.

We return to the text and our Lord’s conditional promise. So if you faithfully obey the commands I am giving you today. Now the Lord lays out the commands quite specifically, clearly and openly. Once again, this command is directed specifically for His children, who are living in a place of accepted idolatry and adultery, a place where the more gods one has, the better.

We shall spend the final two days of the beginning of our newly given month, focusing on the Lord’s commands. We are dealing with His now commands, the present commands in the place where you and I now are.
