Demonic Forces Driven Out

Demons are real, otherwise Jesus would never have put His Name to the casting out of demons. That is one of the works He did while He was on earth in human form.

In addition, we know that they are a force to be reckoned with, otherwise He would surely not make this one of the signs given to believers. In My Name they will drive out demons. Was this sign evidenced at Pentecost, along with the obvious sign of speaking in new tongues? Let’s follow without fail.

Demons or demonic forces also come in those who speak lies about the Holy Trinity. They come to us with half-truths, mocking, jesting and speaking what they do not know. Injurious spirits, evil spirits and all such demonic spirits, are not from God, but can come in very convincing ways to trick us and try to hamper God’s work. I ask you, are these not demonic, mocking voices being heard at Pentecost? Are they not the actions of those who are making a mockery of Jesus’ Baptism and what Jesus does in His disciples?

Peter faces these demons with the received Pentecostal Power, and in the Name of Jesus, cancels all those deceiving voices. He addresses every single mind that is opposite to truth and drives out all the mocking words of insult and utter, downright lies. Then Peter stood up with the Eleven, raised his voice and addressed the crowd: Fellow Jews and all of you who live in Jerusalem, let me explain this to you; listen carefully to what I say. These men are not drunk, as you suppose. It’s only nine in the morning! Acts 2: 14 – 15.

I can’t tell you what language Peter was speaking here, but what I can tell you is that it was still a Pentecostal tongue and the Lord worked with His servant to confirm and give testimony to all that was being done. Peter had to first silence the crowd of mockers and non-mockers for them to be able to hear what he was about to say. Note the power of the Spirit in bringing this atmosphere, where people are listening attentively to the Word of God. Peter removes all ignorance, as he tells them of the prophecy of Joel and God’s promise to pour out His Holy Spirit on all people.

How do we know that Peter knew victory over all those who were there mocking, heckling and wanting to make this Baptism of Jesus, fake and false? How do we know that he totally drove out all the demonic voices present? Our answer comes in Acts 2: 37. When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, Brothers, what shall we do?

However this may sound to you, this I know to be true, without one jot of doubt and without wavering. When the Holy Spirit came upon the disciples, after they had received Jesus’ Baptism, they did not have to wait for this Gift of the Spirit to be soaked into them, before response was seen in them. There were no delayed reactions. There was no waiting for any right or appropriate time, for the Lord to make His Word heard and seen in them.

I tell you, manifestations and signs of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the disciples were evident, just as Jesus said it would be. The servants of Jesus spoke in new tongues and demonic forces were indeed driven away.

Are there more signs? What do you think? What do you know?

Take God at His Word! Believers, filled with the Baptism of Jesus, in His Name, will drive out demons that stand among them, making a mockery of God’s Truth.
