Curse And Cure

Let me remind you of our main text again.
Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies. Romans 8: 23.
Previously, we saw that everyone who has the firstfruits of the Spirit, all groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies. We need the redemption because of the trespass of the one man Adam, but God has made this redemption possible, practicable and ever present before us, in Jesus Christ. Let’s hear what Romans 5: 17 has to tell us about this truth. For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ!
The curse is through the one man, Adam and the cure is through the one Man Jesus. We have the first Adam and the second Adam. The curse is what we have received from Adam’s trespass or sin. The curse is death. For the wages of sin is death, that is the ruling of God. Cursed is anyone who dies upon the tree. We have not died upon the tree, our inherited curse for sin, and do not need to die, in accordance with the curse. Note carefully, the reason why we do not have to die because of the curse, is singularly and precisely dependent upon grace and the gift of righteousness. Jesus is our Grace and Jesus is our Gift of Righteousness. Jesus, He who never sinned, knew sin when He took our sin upon Him. Jesus took the curse of sin upon Him and paid the accounted price – in full – no outstanding debts.
Here is the reasoning, which must and only come by Faith and Trust. We know that sin is a curse, because we know it in our bodies, as in our daily lives, we know the struggles we have with our sinful nature. This is a fact; we own it, we know it, we grow it and we bear its perfect fruit. If we say that we have no sin and that we do not bear the firstfruits of sin, we are simply deceiving ourselves and the truth eludes us, big time.
However, when it comes to the cure for sin's curse, we remember Jesus is the cure, in that He is the One who has taken your curse and mine upon Him. We know that this Grace is a cure, because we know it by faith in our spiritual nature, in our daily lives. We know it by faith and trust in the assurance we and other believers have in our given spiritual nature.
This is a fact; we own it, we know it, we grow it and we bear its perfect fruit. If we say that we have been set free from the curse of sin and know God’s Indwelling, Holy Spirit in us, yet we are still controlled by the sinful nature, living and continuing to bear the fruit of the carnal nature in our bodies, we are simply fooling ourselves and the truth is definitely not in us.
So we ask ourselves and wonder whether or not we have firstfruits of the Spirit. Are we waiting patiently for our adoption, as sons and daughters, the true, right and longed for redemption of our bodies? May we seek daily, night and day, the wisdom and understanding of the Holy Spirit.
Tomorrow, we continue with more on the CURE for our CURSE.
