Confession Without Confirmation

Straightway, we turn to the present Scripture Verse. Nevertheless, God’s solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: The Lord knows those who are his, and Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness. 2 Timothy 2: 19.
It is being reemphasized that our Heavenly Father, Sovereign God :-
Knows every single thing about you and about me.
Has made the necessary arrangements to save us from such a hell-bound life. His salvation comes with a response for each of us.
Our response is critical and crucial and must never be taken for granted.
Yes, there is a command and we must adhere to it. If we are to confess our Saviour’s Name, you and I must turn from our wickedness. Believe you me! You and I are full of wickedness. But thankfully, the Good News is that the ineffaceable and imperishable Word of God assures us of this. As long as we confess the Lord’s Name, we must repent and know the change He brings to us. God is not wickedness, so that no kind of wickedness is found in Him. If we are His own, how can wickedness be allowed to remain and bear fruit in us?
Believer, the deed has already been completed, irreversibly so, but the demand is what our Almighty and most Loving Father looks for. You see, to show one side of the coin as of Jesus and the other side as of the devil, is to spread great and harmful news about the Resurrection of our Lord, Saviour and King.
We will conclude with a most vivid and convincing fact, showing how the fallacy of Jesus’ Resurrection is lived, shared and spread in our lives, when we confess Jesus, but remain the same. Before we do this, let’s go right back to the beginning, where Paul was counselling Timothy. Remember, he was advising him firmly and unequivocally, to avoid godless chatter, because those who engaged in it and who listened to it would grow more and more ungodly. His description was most apt, when he told Timothy that the teachings of such ungodly people would spread like gangrene. He gave example, by naming two people, known believers, who have wandered away from the truth. They say that the resurrection has already taken place, and they destroy the faith of some. 2 Timothy 2: 18.
We carry on in our conclusion, ready to receive convincing and most vivid evidence, showing how the lies about Jesus’ Resurrection are lived, shared and spread in our lives. It comes from Confession without Confirmation.
Let me take your minds back to the scenario of the driving permit and how we saw that indeed a person may have the evidence of the deed of transaction, and can show it at any time. Nevertheless, it was made most clear that without obeying and following the demands of that transaction, it would all be futile. In fact, it would prove fatal for, as was stated earlier in the week, when the test comes, we will certainly fail and these most dreaded words of our Risen Lord to all who hold up the deed without demand will surely be heard. Not everyone who says to me, Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only those who do the will of my Father who is in heaven. Matthew 7: 21.
All who engage in godless chatter and teach others to do so also, will not fail to hear these Words from our Lord, in plain Tongue. I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers! Matthew 7: 23b. Now where or who is the example and evidence of all that is being said? We are taken to James and some very crushing words, words which make us, awake, arise and act forthwith.
Okay, So I have confessed Jesus as Lord, but I am in danger of a hell life and not a heaven life. I have confessed to His Resurrection, but I am chased away as godless, one not known to God. This is how James puts it. You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that – and shudder. James 2: 19. What are you hearing? Aren’t many things coming to you all at once? True, we may feel a bit swamped, but we know that everything we’re seeing and hearing is true. As much as we may want to put our hands on our spiritual ears to block out what we’re hearing, deep down, we want to hear. It is in hearing that we are brought to the confession spoken of previously. It is in hearing, as Timothy heard from Paul, we are made aware. It is in listening that we can hear Jesus in the words of James and not be deceived about, Confession without Confirmation and Deed without Demand.
What are we hearing Lord? Grant us hearing ears, seeing eyes, humbled hearts and minds of repentance please.
To confess the Resurrection of Jesus with my lips but evidence in my daily living, that He is dead, is folly. This is the way of demons; all who are godless.
To confess my belief in the Resurrection of Jesus, but live according to my natural instincts, is false. This is the way of devils; all who are godless.
To confess that my passion is for the Resurrection of Jesus, to fear Him to the extent that I shake and shudder when I hear and speak about it, yet bear the fruit of lies, darkness, and death, is fake. This is the way of deceivers; all who are godless.
We have in our possession the Deed of Resurrection and can show the world that indeed the Resurrection of our Lord and Saviour has already taken place, but if our lives testify fully to the fact that we do not need to follow and obey the Demands of the Transaction, it is only spreading fallacy.
On the contrary, it is precisely because the Resurrection has taken place and we hold the Deed that when we confess the Name of our Risen Lord, we turn away from our wicked deeds.
Risen Lord Jesus, grant us ears, eyes, hearts and minds of repentance please, for we do not want to be fallacy speakers and spreaders of Your Resurrection. Amen!
