Our progression faithfully carries on, in what we all are being called to do. We are called to:-
Follow Jesus
Leave all for Jesus
Love Jesus more
Love Jesus more than these.
Don’t you see the lovingly, beautiful progression? Remember, this is for those who are believers, those who have decided to follow Jesus, but have been distracted, side-tracked and even derailed, because of one thing or another. The fact is that we are in the world, but not of the world. Jesus has categorically stated to His apostles of old, and to you and me also, this living fact. If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. John 15: 18 – 19.
How much more convincing can we be made, when we hear Jesus in prayer to His Heavenly Father, speaking about His own, whom He loves. I have given them your word and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world. My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. They are not of the world, even as I am not of it. John 17: 14 – 16.
People who are truly Christians, those who really believe and will follow Jesus, heeding His now call, will learn to love Him more than anything good or bad, welcomed and unwelcomed.
As we conclude, the final and most poignantly arresting, uplifting and fully compelling verse awaits us. Here it is.
Jesus calls us! By thy mercies,
Savior, may we hear thy call,
Give our hearts to thine obedience,
Serve and love thee best of all.
Praise The Lord! We have been given a response in living, working prayer. Jesus has already prayed for you, as a believer. He has prayed to His Father who has already answered Him, so that you are a protected soul, protected from the evil one, if you will keep following Jesus. It is because you and I live in the victory of our Master’s prayer for us, right here and now, in this evil world of darkness, we can respond in prayer to Him. The peace and pure joy of this prayer is that we know, by faith, that our prayer is also answered prayer, stemming from our Master’s answered prayer. And thus, as we have individually received our Lord’s call and His prayer, we lift our individual voices, asking in this wonderful life-giving prayer of faith.
