A Most blessed and fruitful Advent Day to you.

On this day of celebration, this Christmas Day, we come with open hearts, ready, willing and expecting to learn and be a living part of all Immanuel is offering us today.

We know that on this day, which many Christians celebrate as the Birthday of our Lord, the day set aside as the day on which He was born, many of our hearts have been and will be made different, As promised, this will be a most exciting Christmas Week, as we revisit and are once again reminded of these hearts. Although I have written about these hearts previously, I have been totally taken all over again, and have been inspired to offer them to you anew. May we each seek to know them beating perfectly in us. May we live and know the blessed, bright, beautiful, beaming, bountiful, and believing heart, in the ever welcoming and timely Good News of Jesus.

We look first at Mary, the human heart of one chosen by Almighty God to carry the Son Of God, so that He will be born through her, in mortal flesh. God, in His Holy incomprehensible wisdom and plan chooses to become incarnate, in flesh, through one who is flesh.  God has demonstrated, in this way of coming, many facts, However, the one we hold in this moment, is the fact that He can contract Himself into a simple human being, a baby, to come to be like you and like me. Indeed, God finds delight and favour in using a human being for this high calling. Such a heart is a blessed heart, a favoured heart.

When God’s heavenly messenger went to bring the Good News of Jesus being born in her and through her, this is how she was greeted. Greetings, you who are highly favoured! The Lord is with you. Luke 1: 28b.

I’m sure you will agree with me that any heart that has found favour with God is a blessed heart.  Not only that, but after Mary gives birth, and shepherds are visited by heavenly messengers, who tell them wonderful things about Mary’s Boy Child, they tell her all they have been told. What is Mary’s response? Luke 2: 19 states this. But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. Is this not also a heart which has been blessed and richly blessed at that?

It is interesting to note that this was not always such a blessed heart, for at one point in time, her heart was a worried and fearful heart. Mary was most sceptical and uncertain of all that she was hearing from God’s Angel, he had to restore peace and calm in her once more. But the angel said to her, Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God. Luke 1: 30. So accepting is she that she is able to bring forth a response of praise and thanks to God that can only come from the blessed heart.

O for the heart of Mary,
A heart made pure and ready,
A favoured heart, a heart so blest,
It only can to Father God attest.
Amen!
