As we are now at the end of the first week in Advent, we take this moment to be reminded of how we began the week. We were told that according to our faith, God would make us His living Advent illumination, as we received all angel shaped lights. What a fitting way to end with Jesus and angels. This is the story of a servant of God called Balaam. We know that he has the power to bless or curse people and this gift is well known. Balak, the king of Moab, knows this about Balaam and sends his human messenger to him, asking him to curse an entire nation for him.
