Tertullus Teaches - Part Three

And when he was called upon, Tertullus began his accusation, saying: Seeing that through you we enjoy great peace, and prosperity is being brought to the nation by your foresight, we accept it always and in all places, most noble Felix, with all thankfulness. Acts 24: 2 - 3
As we conclude, extremely mindful of God and who He is in Power and Authority, may we, even now, come before Him fully assured that He is indeed Ruler over all.
It has already been stated in a previous sharing, that when we listen to Tertullus, his words take a complete change and are turned around in us. They have been lit up and lifted up to us, so that we are able to recognize faith, fact, favour, freeness, fame and fullness, all dressed in glowing apparel. Faith, fact, favour, and freeness have already been lit up to us. We now receive the same, on fame and fullness.
Fame – As Tertullus did on Felix, do we always confer and crown our Lord with this title? Most noble God! What high, great honour we too must ascribed to God. What fame! God is not just our Noble God, but He is The Most Noble, High God. Who can be compared to our God? He is LORD! For You, LORD, are most high above all the earth; You are exalted far above all gods. Psalm 97: 9
Fullness – As Tertullus, do we also crown our God with all the fullness of appreciation, gratitude and thanks? He do we shower all thankfulness upon Sovereign God? Do we speak of all His works, with all thankfulness? We too, ought to shower thankfulness upon God, for all that He has done, all that He is doing and all that He will do for us in our request to Him. Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. Psalm118: 1
Before Tertullus begins his mission, what he has come to ask and seek of Felix, he spends his time lifting him high in glory, laud and honour. When we too come before God, it is right, good and fitting to lift Him high in honour, glory, might and forever goodness and love.
Has not Jesus Himself taught us this when we pray to God, our heavenly Father? So He said to them, When you pray, say: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your Kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Luke 11: 2. We exalt our Father in heaven, and lift Him high above everyone and everything, even our present requests.
We acknowledge His Name as Hallowed, knowing that there is no other Name to be compared with His Holy Name. We glorify God’s Name.
We acknowledge God as Sovereign and speak of His Kingdom as present here on earth. We are lauding Him as the One Ruler of heaven and earth. We are lauding Him as King on earth, as He is in heaven. We magnify God’s Sovereignty.
We acknowledge Him as the One Wise and bow in obedience and submission to the fact that it is His Sovereign Will that will be done on earth, just as it is done in heaven. We worship and sanctify Him as the One, Most High Power and Authority who rules us. We sanctify God’s Attributes.
In full consciousness that we are before Almighty God, who rules all the earth with Justice and Righteousness, we make our request. In complete and true profession that we are where we are in God’s Presence, having known, at His Hands, peace and prosperity of heart and mind, we seek His present help. In full assurance of God’s undiminished and unrivalled capabilities and abilities, we are confident of His help in all situations. In full acceptance that all that God does is right and good, just and true, and merciful and righteous, we are happy to come to Him for His help. We are speaking to God, our Father in heaven, who has allowed us into His Holy Presence, through Jesus, enabled by the Holy Spirit. We borrow from Tertullus, in our most holy faith and say this to God.
Most Holy God! Seeing that through You we enjoy great peace of heart and mind, and seeing that prosperity is being brought to the nation by Your foresight, we accept Your works always and in all places, most Holy God, with all thankfulness. We know beyond the shadow of any doubt that You can help us in our asking. We look to You Father, through the Spirit, with unending thankfulness. Amen!
